Purpose and access
Quiet Desk Relay is a private, locally operated desktop utility. With the operator's authorization, it uses Google's Gmail API to send notifications to an authorized mailbox and read replies in relevant email conversations. The permission to read Gmail may technically cover more messages than the messages selected for processing by the utility.
Information used
The utility may process the subject, sender, recipients, message content, message and conversation identifiers, and delivery status of relevant Gmail messages. It uses this information to send notifications, associate replies with prior notifications, and retain local administrative records.
Storage and disclosure
The utility runs on the operator's computer. Its Google authorization token is held locally in protected storage. Selected messages and notification content are transmitted through Google's Gmail service as part of sending and receiving email. The utility does not sell Gmail information, use it for advertising, or share it with unrelated third parties. Local records remain under the operator's control until deleted. Gmail messages remain subject to the user's Gmail settings and Google's policies.
This information website
This website has no login, forms, analytics scripts, cookies set by the site, or access to Gmail, local files, or the desktop utility. The website hosting provider may process basic technical request logs to deliver the pages.
Control and contact
The operator can revoke the utility's Gmail access in their Google Account's third-party access settings and can remove local records. For privacy requests, use the support email provided on the Google authorization screen.
Use of information received from Google APIs is subject to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
